Cohort of 12 Dallas Community Organizations Each Awarded $25,000 Grants
February 12, 2018 (Dallas, TX) – Stand Together in partnership with Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Deion Sanders today announced the selection of 12 Dallas non-profit organizations to participate in Stand Together’s Prime 5 Catalyst Program, a four-month program designed to help these innovative groups build capacity and increase their impact to help more people break the cycle of poverty. In addition to learning about Market Based Management® and receiving personalized coaching, each of the selected organizations will also receive a $25,000 grant.
The organizations selected by Stand Together for the Prime 5 Catalyst Program are: Advocates for Community Transformation, Akola Project, Behind Every Door, Bonton Farms, Dallas Life, Education Opens Doors, Interfaith, Mercy Street, Miles of Freedom, Oasis Center, The Concilio, and WiNGS. Stand Together evaluated over 100 Dallas organizations and selected these 12 groups based on a variety of factors, including the effectiveness of their approach, their leadership and their vision for growing and scaling their impact.
“All of these organizations have helped transform the lives of individuals and families facing persistent poverty in the Dallas community,” said Evan Feinberg, Executive Director of Stand Together. “We are excited to partner with all twelve of these groups and provide them with the right resources, tools and methodology to help them keep growing.”
Prime 5 is a $21 million initiative that Stand Together launched in partnership with Sanders in June 2017 to support non-profit organizations that are working to help Dallas residents to transform their lives and break the cycle of poverty. The Prime 5 Catalyst Program participants join a national network of 73 Stand Together Catalyst organizations, including four that work in Dallas: Urban Specialists, Café Momentum, ACE Scholarships and Youth Entrepreneurs.
“We are building a team of highly impactful organizations that are united in helping the people of Dallas to improve their lives,” said Sanders. “I’m proud to support these impressive groups as they work to build a brighter future for Dallas.”
